Estee Lauder to buy Smashbox
Estee Lauder is adding another beauty mark to its stable of pretty packages.
The cosmetics giant said today it would buy Los Angeles-based Smashbox Beauty Cosmetics Inc., reports Reuters.
Smashbox, which sells cosmetics and nail polish mainly in North Ameica, was founded in 1996 by two great-grandsons of Max Factor. The brand was inspired by the needs of makeup artists working on photo shoots.
Other brands in the Estee Lauder portfolio include Clinique, Origins, Bumble and bumble, Jo Malone, Prescriptives and MAC.
