Taylor Swift's new CoverGirl ad campaign
Can Taylor Swift sell makeup?
CoverGirl believes in her.
The cosmetics giant announced last spring that the fresh-faced country crooner would be their newest face. Now we know she’ll be touting the new NatureLuxe line scheduled to land in stores in January. The line includes Silk Foundation and Gloss Balm. Products were inspired by a move away from overstated, heavy opulence to simple, high-quality experiences in both beauty and fashion.
Swift is no stranger to fashion. She rocks retro gowns, red lipstick and curly hair softly pulled up and away from her face. She says she likes to experiment with her look. At the American Music Awards, her normally curly locks were blown straight and she surprised fans by wearing a dress that was short and edgy.
“I go through phases,” she said in an Associated Press story. “When I was recording my new album, I wore a side braid on the left side every day. It just seemed to be the only style that seemed like the right one at the time. Then there was a phase when I’ll pin my hair in elaborate updos. In wintertime, I’ll usually straighten my hair, and in the summertime and spring, I wear a lot of headbands. In the fall, I wear a lot of knit beanies.”
