It has been a long time since Oklahoma City devoted a week to fashion. And, yes, Oklahoma City used to have a very successful Fashion Week with a style show, trunk shows, designer appearances and special events at clothing stores across the city.
Fast forward a couple of decades and fashion again will be the focus for a week. Oklahoma Fashion Week kicks off April 14 and concludes with a red carpet event on April 20. Sandwiched in between are special presentations and a fashon show at OSU in Stillwater.
Oklahoma Fashion Week organizers and supporters hope to increase the state’s fashion consciousness while creating a showcase for fashion students, as well as emerging and established designers. Through a partnership with Oklahoma State University Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising, the group shares a vision to make Oklahoma a regional fashion hub and a place for young, creative talent to be nurtured.
The event, which will bring together local models, makeup and hair artists and sponsors, will benefit Reginal Food Bank of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City Police Athletic League.
Open to the public, Oklahoma Fashion Week will offer general admission and VIP tickets online through Eventbrite. VIP admission allows guest to mingle with designers in an intimate lounge setting.
