Celebrity briefs (Dec. 18)

–  A man was arrested in Arizona for pushing a security guard in an effort to get close to Lindsay Lohan and her girlfriend Samantha Ronson who were at the club that night.

– “New Moon” (the sequel to “Twilight”) will be released in theaters Nov. 20, 2009.  “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke will not direct the new film. Instead, it will be directed by Chris Weitz who also directed “The Golden Compass” and “American Pie.”

– Matt Lanter will appear on several episodes of the new “90210″ series beginning in February. Lanter starred in the tv show “Heroes” on NBC.

– Reruns of the sitcom “Half and Half” will begin airing Dec. 26 on the TV One Channel.  The sticom stars Rachel True, Essence Atkins and Telma Hopkins.

– Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts will perform at the People’s Choice Awards Jan. 7.  Queen Latifah will host the show.

– Tom Cruise’s son Connor plays in the movie “Seven Pounds” along with Will smith.
