The ABC network has something to dance about.  The show “Dancing with the Stars” beat Fox’s “American Idol” in the ratings for the first time.

During the week of March 29, the Monday episode of “Dancing with the Stars” had nearly 23 million viewers compared to “American Idol’s” viewership of 21.8 million Tuesday and $20.5 million Wednesday last week, according to TV Guide.

I’m not surprised by the shift in ratings.  This year’s “American Idol” season has been lackluster.  It’s not as exciting as it used to be in previous years because of the contestants aren’t “wowing” people this year.

I have watched most “American Idol” episodes, but I’ve never seen “Dancing with the Stars.”  I think I’m going to watch my first episode next week to see what all the hoopla is about.
