NEW YORK (AP) —Jane Lynch of “Glee” will cheer on exceptional young activists as part of VH1′s “Do Something Awards.”

Lynch plays a surly cheerleading coach on the hit musical show on Fox. She will host the July 19 event being held in Los Angeles and airing live on VH1.

The show honors people 25 and younger who are trying to better their community. Five have already been granted $10,000 from DoSomething.org. One will win a $100,000 grant at the event.

The awards show will also recognize celebrities and organizations that are trying to make a difference.
