Betty White raises "Bucks for Balls"

“Hollywood It Girl” Betty White is using her new Facebook status to talk about the pet overpopulation problem.

She’s helping the animal charity Actors and Others for Animals with its fundraising drive.

The campaign, titled “Betty’s Bucks for Balls Spay/Neuter Campaign,” is seeking donations of all sizes including as small as a dollar.

White says that while these days she’s “one lucky broad,” she knows that a lot of animals don’t have her current lucky streak.

She’s asking the more than 500,000 Facebook users who campaigned for her to host “Saturday Night Live” in May to give as little as a dollar to this cause.

“If all of you wonderful people out there who have made me so popular on Facebook would send in just $1 each, next year when Actors and Others will be observing their 40th anniversary, they will use those funds to celebrate by sterilizing as many pets as possible for free with a promotion,” White said.
