Chisholm Elementary students and their younger and older brothers and sisters, parents and teachers dance to the 1950′s music.

LET’S DO THE STROLL….The dance floor ( in the cafeteria) was totally crowded during every song when teachers, students and parents from Chisholm Elementary School in Edmond held a sock hop at the school on March 7.

One of the featured dances from the 1950’s was the “Stroll.”

Pre-kindergarten students danced with their teachers, parents danced with sons and daughters, and students danced with students as an Elvis Presley impersonator sang with the Oklahoma Christian University band to 1950’s music.

Hula hoops hung from the ceiling, along with streamers and records. The records were also stuck all over the walls. Strands of lights were in the hallways and black and white versions of two movies, “The Absent-Minded Professor” and “Shaggy Dog,” played throughout the evening.

Dinner was box lunches provided by Chic-fil-a that parents had pre-ordered. Picnic tables were set up facing the big screen. The tables were wrapped in cardboard car cut-outs, so that the room looked like a 1950 drive-in movie theater.
