QUAIL CREEK JULY 4TH PARADE

Dr. John Rex, Coal Rex (black lab ) and Andrew Walding led the Quail Creek 4th of July Parade (Photo by Linda Garrett).

At the July 4th Quail Creek parade Coal, the Black Lab retriever that Berta Faye Rex owns, was front and center. He and Berta Faye’s son Dr. John Rex were representing the family. Berta Faye is a longtime parade volunteer. She (with her late husband John) is a major organizer for the event.

She is the recent victim of a house fire and is still in the hospital.

Many of the floats in the parade featured “Get Well Berta Faye” signs and her son noted in correspondence to well wishers that although she was not there in person, she was definitely there in spirit.

Her friends from the parade signed a giant get well card.

Get well posters decorated golf carts, cars and floats. (Photo from Berta Faye’s Chronicles by family members.)
