TAKING THE STAGE…A group of friends were hosts for their 60th birthdays. They invited guests to the Skirvin Hotel Ballroom for a dance. The invitation stated “no jackets, but dancing shoes required.”

Hosts were Janie and Jon Axton, Carla and Mike Barber, Sherry and Lee Beasley, Donna and Len Cason, Alice and Don Dahlgren, Patsy Hunzicker, J.R. Homsey, Ann and Bill Johnstone, Ellen and Carlisle Mabrey, Dana and Frank McGuire and Kathy and Mike Steffen.

The Pink Flamingos Band from Albuquerque, New Mexico, played and during the dances, they used balloon type volleyballs, birthday cakes, umbrellas and beach balls to get people on the stage on the dance floor. Dudley Hyde and Mark Sullivan, wearing shirts emblazoned with flamingos, and Brenda and Tom McDaniel, John Salmeron, David Thompson, Alice Dahlgren, Mark Funke and Dave Lopez were the first on the dance floor. Everyone put on pink sunglasses.

PARTY HOPPING…1967 Harding High School graduates had their 40th reunion last weekend. Parties began Friday night with dinner at The Grand House. They met for Saturday lunch at Johnnie’s Restaurant, after a school assembly and tour.
