A breakfast for business and community leaders was held recently. People at the event discussed the promotion of good character and the September-Month-of-Character which was designated by Mayor Mick Cornett.

The group met with  City Council members and then listened to the reading of the Month of Character Proclamation.

The Character Council of Central Oklahoma began December 2003, with a small meeting of individuals committed to investing in the local community by promoting good character development.

The Character Council members are working on the fourth annual Character Recognition and Awards Banquet  which is September 10 at 6 p.m. at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. They are also planning  the ZOOrific day of Character set for September 26.

There are  other events planned during the month.

Gerald Coury, President Character First Initiative; Linda Manaugh, Co-Chairman, ZOOrific Day of Character, and John Burnett, Director of Character First, were at the event.
