The Annie Oakley Society Luncheon was held recently at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum where pink tablecloths were on the tables and pink and white tulips, hydrangeas and roses were in tall acrylic vases. Tall, lighted arrangements of white flowers and branches were set in strategic places throughout the room.

The Annie Oakley Society Award was presented by Gov. Mary Fallin to Music Artist and Actress Reba McEntire. The award honored her for exemplifying the character, perseverance and moral fiber in the tradition of Annie Oakley, a sharpshooter and entertainer, who used her talents for audiences around the world. The Society celebrates women who demonstrate leadership and the entrepreneurial spirit of the American West.

Pink straw cowboy hats were given as party favors to each guest and most of the guests put them on and wore them during the party.

Salmon with dill sauce was on the menu, along with berry cheesecake and a cookie decorated with a star badge.
