Mountain columbine were in full bloom in Basalt, Colo. where Jeary Seikel, Linda James, Pam Smith and Patty Cohenour traveled recently. They were in Jeary Seikel’s home where many different colors and kinds of columbine and other wildflowers, poppies, asters, Indian blanket and larkspur were abundant. The women traveled to Colorado for card playing, sight seeing and porch sitting.

The group had lunch at the Pine Creek Cookhouse, near Ashcroft, Colo. The restaurant, know for its’ wild game menu, had run out of buffalo meat, so the travelers chose beef tender sandwiches. Yum. This restaurant is set at the base of the Elk mountain range.
