Cat and Bill Thompson were hosts in their Taos, New Mexico, home for a reception for people who attended classes at Oklahoma State University’s Doel Reed Center for the Arts. They invited the alumni, friends of OSU and OSU alumni, plus local residents.

The classes on New Mexico Modernism from 1898-1940 included excursions to sites in the area associated with the topic.

Dr. Ed Walkiewicz, Santa Fe, N.M., director of the DR Center, Ann and Burns Hargis, Lela and Mark Sullivan, Deb and David Engle and actress and model Lauren Hutton were among the guests.

The Doel Reed Center for the Arts was established as a part of OSU’s College of Arts and Sciences in 2009 to offer summer programs in a number of fields. It includes land and facilities donated to the university by the late Martha Reed, the daughter of the late Doel Reed, who was an acclaimed artist and the first head of the OSU art department.
