Dear Civic Center Music Hall,
You could not have had a better anniversary party Thursday night!
It was perfect! 75 years becomes you!
You look beautiful. You sound great! And your front park and gardens enhance the whole building.
And everyone enjoyed anniversary cupcakes and wine to celebrate during the show’s intermission.
And the show…what a wonderful performance on your stage…. Act 1… with vignette concerts from your past featuring Elton John, Buddy Holly Elvis Presley, James Brown, Will Rogers, Mrs. Delbert Cravens, plus stirring renditions of the Star Spangled Banner by the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra and Battle Hymn of the Republic by the Canterbury Choral Society… all beautifully orchestrated.
The spectacular Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra was on stage through both acts. There was even a ballet performance on your stage.
All of your resident arts organizations, Oklahoma City Philharmonic, Lyric Theater, Canterbuy Choral Society, Celebrity Attractions, City Rep, Oklahoma City Ballet and OKC Theatre Company were represented.
Act 2…Frankie Valli..belting out “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” “Sherry” “Big Girls Don’T Cry, “Silence is Golden” “Swearin’ to God”….with the Four Seasons Musical Group totally in sync was billed as “Oh, What A Night”. Frankie Valli, on your stage, was a sensation!
Congratulations on 75 wonderful years!
Dear Judy Love and Ann Johnstone, Event Co-Chairmen,
Oh, What A night! Oh, What A Party! Your sponsor party was the best one ever. The Hall of Mirrors was so festive with shimmering blue tablecloths on cocktail tables, blue be-ribboned chair backs and bouquets of roses, lilies, stock, tulips and orchids by Trochta’s in tall crystal vases.
