Hugh Jackman gives Anne Hathaway, James Franco Oscar hosting advice
Earlier this month, 2009 Academy Awards host Hugh Jackman gave this year’s Oscar co-hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco a bit of advice for tonight’s big show.
According to the Associated Press, Jackman advised Hathaway and Franco to have fun during the first 45 minutes of the show and move things along after that. I’d say that’s good advice, considering the show is notorious for running long.
The “X-Men” star also reminded the pair to make time to actually eat something – and indicated they might want to bring along enough snacks to share. Jackman recalled in 2009 pulling out some cookies and finding himself surrounded by hungry actors.
Jackman is set to be a presenter on this year’s Oscars.
Franco, 32, and Hathaway, 28, are two of the youngest stars ever picked to co-host the Oscars. In addition, they are the first male-female duo to emcee the show.
The 83rd Annual Academy Awards will air live at 7:30 p.m. today on ABC (KOCO-5 in Oklahoma City), and you can follow along with live blog here at BAM’s Blog! The festivities will begin here on the blog and on TV at 6 p.m. with the Oscars red carpet.
