Country music fans in the mood for a lengthy road trip should know that country music stars Reba McEntire and Ronnie Dunn, who both have Oklahoma ties, will perform Thursday, Aug. 25 at the Minnesota State Fair as part of its Grandstand Concert Series.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, according to the Associated Press. Tickets cost $45 and $55.
For tickets and information, go to www.mnstatefair.org.
McEntire, who hails from Chockie, has sold more than 55 million records worldwide and will be inducted Sunday into the Country Music Hall of Fame. She’s received numerous music awards, including two Grammy Awards, and starred in “Reba,” a television show that ran from 2001 to 2007.
Dunn, a former Tulsan, is formerly half of country’s top-selling duo Brooks & Dunn. He will release his debut solo album on June 7, and he played his first Oklahoma show since Brooks & Dunn last year on May 7 at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville.
If you’re not looking to make the trip Minnesota, Reba and fellow Oklahoma country star Blake Shelton will play tornado relief concerts Wednesday and Thursday at Choctaw Event Center in Durant. All proceeds from Reba and Shelton’s benefit shows will go to Atoka County’s ongoing relief efforts through the Tushka Disaster Relief Fund.
Thursday’s show quickly sold out, prompting the stars to add a second show for Wednesday. Tickets are still available for the Wednesday show, and we need to sell it out, too. It’s for a good cause, people, and the music is sure to great.
Tickets are priced at $45, $75 and $100 and can be purchased at www.choctawcasinos.com or www.startickets.com.
