Video: Flaming Lips rewrite "Race for the Prize" as an Oklahoma City Thunder anthem

Oklahoma City-based psychedelic rockers The Flaming Lips are getting into the Oklahoma City Thunder spirit!

The Lips have rewritten and recorded their anthem “Race for the Prize,” from their classic 1999 album “The Soft Bulletin,” as a playoff anthem for their hometown NBA heroes.

Here’s my favorite lyric in this Thunder-iffic new version of “Race for the Prize”: “And when they win, we win with them/They’ll keep fighting for Oklahoma.” It’s pretty awesome!

The Thunder are in the midst of the third quarter of Game 1 in their Western Conference Finals series against the San Antonio Spurs. The game is being played in San Antonio and airing on TNT.

So turn it on and Thunder UP! Even if you’re not a sports fan, the Lips say you gotta …
