Michael Fassbender to star in, co-produce "Assassin's Creed" movie

Actor Michael Fassbender has signed on to star and co-produce in Ubisoft’s film adaptation of its video game “Assassin’s Creed,” according to TheWrap.com.

Fassbender will play Desmond Miles, a bartender descended from families of prominent assassins, whose story bounces between medieval and modern settings as he fights the Knights Templar.

The actor is best known for his roles in “Prometheus,” “Shame,” “Haywire,” “X-Men: First Class” and “Inglourious Basterds.”
