Emmy- and Tony-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth, who hails from Broken Arrow, was hospitalized with minor injuries Wednesday after an accident of the set of the TV show “The Good Wife,” according to BroadwayWorld.com.
According to the report, Chenoweth was struck by a piece of lighting equipment, fell to the ground and struck her head. After being taken to a nearby hospital around 5 p.m. Wednesday, a representative from the New York Fire Department stated Chenoweth was being treated for “minor injuries.”
Chenoweth (“Pushing Daisies,” “GCB”) will have a recurring role in Season 4 of “The Good Wife” and will make her debut in September’s season premiere.
The Oklahoma native will match wits with both Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Peter (Chris Noth) in her role as a top-of-her-game political reporter who wants to know more about the Florrick campaign and marriage.
Chenoweth received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in the series “Pushing Daisies” and has appeared in the comedy “Glee,” for which she received two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. She starred in the recently cancelled series “GCB.”
“The Good Wife,” which stars Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner Julianna Margulies, is one of television’s most critically acclaimed dramas. In addition to receiving nine 2011 Primetime Emmy nominations, the most for a broadcast network series, the drama has won or been nominated for multiple awards, including the Peabody Awards, the Golden Globe Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the People’s Choice Awards.
“The Good Wife” airs at 8 p.m. Sundays on the CBS Television Network.
