Oklahoma-born and bred country music superstar Vince Gill received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in ceremony Thursday morning in Los Angeles.

“They’ve deemed me worthy of a star on Hollywood Boulevard. It’s really cool,” said Gill, who still sounded a bit surprised in a phone interview earlier this week from his home in Nashville.

Fellow Oklahoma native Reba McEntire and Gill’s wife, fellow singer Amy Grant, spoke during the ceremony, during which Gill laughed, cried and joked.
