Reunited alternative rock trio Ben Folds Five heralded Tuesday’s release of “The Sound of the Life of the Mind,” the group’s first album in 13 years, with the release Monday of the buoyant video to the first single, “Do It Anyway.”

The video features Oscar nominee Anna Kendrick, Rob Corddry and Chris Hardwick as well as the furry critters from Jim Henson’s “Fraggle Rock.”

In addition, the band celebrated the release of the follow-up to its 1999 album “The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner” with a sold-out show Monday night at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn. Oklahoma City’s own Wayne Coyne, frontman of The Flaming Lips, and Ke$ha, the dance-pop star who grew up in Nashville, made a surprise appearance to perform a quirky cover of the Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty’s witty 1978 love-hate hit “You’re the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly.” To see fan videos of that strange little duet, click here.
