Host Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone to announce Oscar nominees Thursday morning
Oscar host Seth MacFarlane will join actress Emma Stone in revealing the nominees for the 85th annual Academy Awards early Thursday morning.
It will be the first time since 1972 that an Oscar host has participated in the nominations announcement, reports the Associated Press. Charlton Heston was the only other show host to announce Oscar nominees.
Typically, the president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences unveils the nominations with the help of an actor or actress; last year, Jennifer Lawrence helped announce the nominations.
MacFarlane and Stone will reveal the contenders at about 7:30 a.m. Oklahoma time Thursday from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ headquarters in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The Academy Awards will be handed out Feb. 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and air live on ABC.
