OKEMAH – The New Year has barely begun, but the dates and a few of the artists already have been announced for the 2013 Woody Guthrie Folk Festival.

Set in his hometown, the festival takes place annually around the July 14 birthday of the Oklahoma music icon. This year’s festival is set for July 10-14.

Organizers have unveiled the festival’s newly designed website that includes a short list of already confirmed WoodyFest 2013 performers.

Performers includes Okemah-area Grammy nominee John Fullbright, Jimmy LaFave, Ellis Paul, Trout Fishing in America, Annie Guthrie, Don Conoscenti, Sam Baker, Joel Rafael, The Burns Sisters, Vance Gilbert, Ramsay Midwood, Ronny Elliott and Tim Easton.

I’m working on my top 10 Oklahoma albums of 2012 list; check it out in the coming days to see where Fullbright’s studio debut appears on the list.
