Country duo Thompson Square, which consists of Miami, OK, native Keifer Thompson and his wife Shawna, will meet up with CMT Hot 20 Countdown this morning for a special announcement that will be revealed exclusively on the broadcast. Fans can tune in to hear the news directly from the couple at 10:30 a.m. today on CMT.

According to a news release, 2013 has already proven to be a busy year for the Stoney Creek Records duo, who swept every top vocal duo award at every mainstream country music awards show in 2012.

The reigning Academy of Country Music Top Vocal Duo and Country Music Association Vocal Duo of the Year recently released the lead single from its highly anticipated sophomore album. “If I Didn’t Have You,” is already the fastest-rising radio single of the duo’s career, soaring into the Top 20 on both Billboard and Mediabase this week.

Thompson Square shot the Brian Lazzaro-directed music video this week in Nashville, amid freezing weather conditions and a grueling dawn to midnight shooting schedule in which Keifer and Shawna both performed and acted in the starring roles.

Also this week, the 2013 ACM New Duo/Group Nominee Thompson Square headed out on the road, traveling to Evansville, Ind., for the opening night of Luke Bryan’s “Dirt Road Diaries Tour.” The tour will play Tulsa’s BOK Center on Sept. 14, but ticket prices and sale date have not yet been announced.

Thompson Square has earned an astounding list of history-making accolades in its short time on the country music scene. The husband/wife duo’s No. 1 smash, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not,” earned them 2 Grammy nominations as well as an American Music Award nod, four CMA and 5 CMT Music Award nominations as well as a 2012 Teen Choice Award nomination for “Choice Country Group.” Keifer and Shawna Thompson are also winners of three fan-voted American Country Awards as well as a 2012 CMT Music Award for their follow-up smash, “I Got You.”
