Thompson Square to premiere new music video for "If I Didn't Have You" on Valentine's Day

The new video from reigning Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association Vocal Duo of the Year Thompson Square, “If I Didn’t Have You,” will world premiere this Valentine’s Day on CMT.

Directed by Brian Lazzaro, the video was shot in an abandoned hospital wing, with no heat, amid freezing weather conditions and a grueling dawn to midnight shooting schedule in which Keifer and Shawna both performed and acted in the starring roles. Like the single, the video asks the heart-wrenching question: What would we do if we were faced with the possibility of the most important person in our lives leaving us?

“If I Didn’t Have You” is the lead single from Thompson Square’s highly-anticipated sophomore album, Just Feels Good, in stores on March 26. The single, which soared into the Top 15 on Billboard’s Hot Country Airplay Chart today, is available now on iTunes.

Thompson Square – the duo of Miami, OK, native Keifer Thompson and wife Shawna – also will host CMT Radio Live with Cody Alan’s Valentine’s Day Special on Thursday.

Until then, fans can get an exclusive sneak peek at Thompson Square’s brand new video, only at CountryWeekly.com. The photo feature gives fans their first glimpse of scenes from the video as well as insider tidbits and candid conversation from the video set.

Country music’s biggest breakout act of the last two years, the husband-and-wife duo pounded the pavement for 15 years in the music industry before landing a record deal with Benny Brown’s small independent label Stoney Creek Records (sister label to indie Broken Bow Records and home to Jason Aldean). Since that day, Thompson Square has earned more than 25 awards show nominations – including two Grammy nods – and made music history when it was awarded both the 2012 ACM Top Vocal Duo and 2012 CMA Vocal Duo of the Year.

As previously reported, Thompson Square was nominated today for vocal duo of the year at the 2013 ACM Awards, which will air live from Las Vegas on April 7 on CBS.

Thompson Square’s breakthrough hit “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” is nearing double-platinum sales status, was the No. 1 Digital Soundscan Single for five weeks straight, the No. 1 country ringtone for 12 consecutive weeks and was iTunes 2011 Country Song of the Year. Thompson Square’s whirlwind 2011-12 saw them on national tours supporting Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum as well as gracing the stages of “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” “Conan,” “Fox & Friends,” “Fox’s All American Concert Series,” the 45th Annual CMA Awards and CMT’s Artists of the Year special.

Thompson Square ended 2011 as Billboard’s No. 1 New Country Artist in terms of digital sales and the No. 6 New Artist across all genres. Follow-up hits include the award winning infectious, “I Got You,” (No. 6) and the critically-lauded power ballad, “Glass” (No. 15). The duo’s latest smash from its forthcoming sophomore album, “If I Didn’t Have You,” marked Thompson Square’s highest first-week sales of its career.

Thompson Square is touring with Luke Bryan’s “Dirt Road Diaries Tour” through October 2013.
