Hear a lecture on trends in art collecting with Desmond Shawe-Taylor and Anna Somers Cocks at 6 tonight at the Chesapeake Energy Blue Room. The talk is sponsored by Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center, formerly City Arts Center.
Shawe-Taylor manages one of the world’s most prestigious and important art collections, that of H M Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain. It reveals fashions and taste in art from the 16th century to the present day. Somers Cocks, as founder-editor and CEO of the globally influential publication The Art Newspaper, has an astonishing knowledge and overview of how public and private collections are developing in the modern era.
These two distinguished individuals will describe trends both specific and general in a spirited and lively conversation with each other. Later, the conversation will open up
to include the audience.
The event will begin with a 5:30 p.m. reception including complimentary hors d’oeuvres and cash bar. The lecture begins at 6 p.m.

The Chesapeake Energy Blue Room is located in Building 7, off Western between NW 63 Street and Classen Boulevard. Parking is available in the underground parking structure “Central Park” just West of Building 7. When you arrive at Building 7, please take the elevator or stairs to the basement where the lecture will be in the Blue Room.
