Must see: "August: Osage County" poster and first trailer

Check out the first trailer for John Wells’ (“The Company Men”) film adaptation of Tulsa native Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play about the dysfunctional Weston family. The movie is set in Oklahoma and was filmed around Bartlesville in late 2012.

As the poster veritably crows, the film stars such Hollywood heavy-hitters as Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Chris Cooper, Ewan McGregor, Dermot Mulroney, Margo Martindale, Benedict Cumberbatch and Abigail Breslin, among others.

It is due in theaters Nov. 8.

It’s hard to tell too much from a 2 1/2-minute preview, but as expected, the acting looks stellar, and I’m awarding double bonus points for the use of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes’ “Man on Fire” in the trailer.
