The evening: About 350 people turned out for an evening of food and drink and dancing to the Full Circle band, auction, wine pull and a drawing. Around $130,000 was raised. Rusty Surette was master of ceremonies.
Event: Last Frontier at Arcadia Farm Dinner/Sporting Clays Classic.
To benefit: Boy Scouts of America.
Hosted by: Last Frontier Council.
What: About 200 guests enjoyed food, Western entertainment, which included Guthrie gunfighters and Indian dancers from the Arapaho Tribe, auction and a program emceed by Jenifer Reynolds. Eighty shooters competed the next day in the Sporting Classic in near perfect weather.
Who: Leo Portman was the Sporting Clays chairman. Damon King was the Last Frontier Council Boy Scout staff support coordinator.
CELEBRATION IN SPADES
Event: Allied Arts 2013 Campaign Celebration.
Venue: Gaillardia Golf & Country Club.
What: The party scene on the club grounds resembled a live shot from the “Great Gatsby” movie. Bars and hors d'oeuvre tables were set up on the back veranda. Guests descended an imposing row of steps to the grass level where tables with white-draped cloths and centerpieces of mixed flowers were interspersed on the grounds. Seated under a formal gazebo, a quartet played background string music. The setting was complete with water and ducks nearby and moving golf carts in the distance.
Chairmen: Campaign co-chairmen were Judy Hatfield and John Richels. Allied Arts board chairman James Pickel, along with a bevy of golf cars that drove up with single numbers in red spelling out the amount, announced a total of $3,301,457 raised so far in the ongoing campaign.
Program: The program also included an address by Gov. Mary Fallin, an introduction of the James Norick family who were honorary chairmen and an announcement of 2014 chairmen Judy Love and Mike Turpen. Allied Arts president and CEO Deborah McAuliffe Senner also addressed the crowd.
Seen among the guests composed of donors and Allied Arts member agencies, were: Ron and Alyce Page, Barbie Crabtree, Lois and John Salmeron, Margaret and Jay Henry, Wray Jolley, Carol and Mac Troy, Al and Rita Dearmon, Anne and Barry Gray, Jane Harlow, Billy Bowden and Sandy and Stewart Meyers.

To benefit: Positive Tomorrows, a school for homeless children in Oklahoma City.

The evening: Wine tastings, heavy appetizers, music, silent and live auctions highlighted by original artwork created by students at Positive Tomorrows.
