Oklahoma City Thunder report card: Breaking down Russell Westbrook's season

Thunder point guard earns solid grades, especially in leadership in playmaking.

Leadership (A): He's angry, temperamental, selfish, undisciplined, careless, pouty, volatile and fickle. He's also giving, confident, determined, creative, intelligent, strong, athletic and talented. And all he cares about is winning.

Playmaking (A): Westbrook went baseline to baseline in four seconds flat against Houston in the playoffs to beat the third-quarter clock. Any other questions?

Efficiency (B): Westbrook's high efficiency comes from him simply being on the court. He draws a crowd, which leaves other players open. He distributes, rebounds and disrupts the other team. When Westbrook's shooting percentage improves, so will this grade.

Poise (C): A player slapped with 15 technical fouls this season warrants an F. What saves Westbrook is his ability to excel after the technical. He has improved immensely in channeling that anger into better play on the court. Average an F with an A and you get a C.

Ball security (C): Again, he's improving. Still way too many turnovers (fifth most in the NBA), but Westbrook was not totally at fault. Teammates often are not ready for a pass or mishandle the ball. As a result, several potential assists become turnovers.
