Oklahoma City Thunder report card: Daniel Orton gets mixed grades

Daniel Orton's grade are incomplete for this season, but he gets an A for shooting and a B for rebounding.

Shot blocking (B): All we have to go on is how Orton performed with the Tulsa 66ers in the Developmental League, where he averaged 2.2 blocks. That's doesn't translate to the NBA, but it's a solid number.

Rebounding (B): Could be better, but could also be worse. He has by far the best hands of any Thunder center. He also is mobile and surprisingly nimble, all of which should help in this category.

Shooting (A): Hey, compared to fellow centers on the Thunder roster, the kid looks like Hakeem Olajuwon. He's definitely got some skills here. In fact, offense is what will finally earn him time on the floor.

Energy (D): He looks calm when he's out there, perhaps too calm, like he's about to doze off. A little more pep certainly wouldn't hurt. Pretend it's a matter of life and death that you play well, which it is.

Passing (I): Incomplete. The kid has nine assists and 11 turnovers in 29 career games. He might be a terrific passer, but he gets the ball so rarely, why give it to someone else? Further data needed.
