TapWerks celebrates Goose Island, Green Flash, Roughtail

Looking for some beer fun over the next few weeks? Set your GPS to TapWerks and get your calendar out, because the craft beer haven is planning a bunch of great events to celebrate some beers that are new to Oklahoma.

-The festivities start tonight with a Green Flash pint night. Buy any Green Flash beer and keep the glass. In addition, TapWerks has worked up some special menu items incorporating the beer, including Hop Head Red Fish Tacos.

-TapWerks is tapping its first Goose Island kegs today — Honkers, 312 and IPA.

-Those tappings will lead into a trio of Goose Island pint nights. A 312 pint night is set for March 28; a Honkers pint night is scheduled for April 4; and an IPA pint night is on tap for April 11.

-TapWerks will celebrate the first offerings from Midwest City’s Roughtail Brewing Co. with a release party on April 1. More details to come on that.

-That will be followed by a special Ace pint night on April 2.

And finally, TapWerks general manager Greg Powell confirmed that the bar will indeed follow through on its plans for an American craft beer tap takeover to celebrate American Craft Beer Week in May. I’m so jazzed for that, I’d even volunteer to help haul kegs and switch tap lines!

Daily Pints

-Mustang Brewing Co. reported earlier this week that they were filling kegs of their new IPA, DoppelHopper. Expect to see details of availability soon.

-Prairie Artisan Ale’s Pirate Noir, an imperial stout aged in Jamaican rum barrels, is expected to be released next month.

-Walt Disney World, brackets and beer. You had me at hello.

-Speaking of brackets, good luck to everyone who signed up for The Thirsty Beagle March Madness Bracket Challenge. If you’re reading this before tip-off of today’s first NCAA game, you should still have time to sign up and join in.
