Actor Henry Cavill is set to don the tights of Superman in “Man of Steel,” set for release on June 14. But who is your favorite Superman?
Superman, created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in the pages of “Action Comics” No. 1 in 1938, has been a star of multiple television series and movies.
Kirk Alyn played Superman in the serials of the 1940s; George Reeves made the character ubiquitous for Baby Boomers in the 1950s TV series. Christopher Reeve made viewers believe a man could fly in films of the 1970s and 1980s, and Dean Cain was a 1990s-style Clark Kent in “Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.” Tom Welling was Clark Kent in his younger days on “Smallville,” and Brandon Routh brought Superman back to the big screen in “Superman Returns.” Additional actors voiced the character on the radio and in animated series. Who do you think was the best at bringing the character to life?
