Strengths: Terrific shot blocker and rebounder. Doesn't mind doing the dirty work, a trait that always has appealed to Thunder brass. Runs the floor well and has tremendous upside. Excellent coordination, a solid passer and good shooting touch around the basket.
Weaknesses: A project, particularly on offense. Isn't near the player he could be someday, which is more good news than bad. Needs time, but Thunder is known for patience. Needs to get bigger, stronger, meaner. Coming off foot surgery.
How he could help the Thunder: No position with the Thunder is more available for the taking than center. It's the quickest way to make an impact on an elite team. Len might be good enough for OKC to consider trading the No. 12 and No. 29 picks to nab him earlier in the first round.
Projections: No. 4 (SI.com; draftexpress.com); No. 6 (hoopsworld.com); No. 9 (espn.com; hoopshype.com; nbadraft.net); No. 10 (cbssports.com).
Quotable: “Len's (sophomore) season has really been up and down. He started it with a dominant game over Nerlens Noel, the No. 1 player on our Big Board, and ended it with a couple of strong games in the NIT. In between, he was all over the place. NBA teams love the size, mobility and offensive potential. Len is also a good rebounder and shot-blocker. The question is why was he so inconsistent?” – Chad Ford (espn.com)
