In the last couple of days, Edmond Republican James Lankford has reported receiving $20,800 in contributions of $1,000 or more to his runoff campaign for the 5th District congressional seat. Kevin Calvey, of Oklahoma City, has reported $5,600 in such contributions.
The two candidates, who meet in the Aug. 24 runoff for the GOP nomination, must file detailed contribution and expenditure reports later this week. Since the last day covered in those detailed reports is Aug. 4, the two must file reports in the next two weeks of the large contributions they’re receiving in the days leading up to the election.
Calvey reported five donations of $1,000 or more, all from Oklahoma City donors.
Lankford reported 11 donations of $1,000 or more, with money coming from Yukon, Amarillo, Oklahoma City, Edmond, Duncan and Lawton.
