Firefighters battle fire at northwest Oklahoma City restaurant

A fire was reported at The Shack Seafood and Oyster Bar, 303 NW 62, about 1:50 p.m. Thursday. When firefighters arrived, an explosion was heard from the back of the restaurant.

Oklahoma City firefighters are at the scene of a fire in a restaurant in northwest Oklahoma City.

The fire was reported about 1:50 p.m. Thursday at The Shack Seafood and Oyster Bar, 303 NW 62. Firefighters heard an explosion from the back of the restaurant after they arrived, Maj. Tammy McKinney said.

McKinney said everyone is out of the building.

Oklahoma City police are asking motorists to avoid the area, Master Sgt. Gary Knight said.
