Grammy-winning Tishomingo resident Miranda Lambert is playing in lieu of her trio Pistol Annies at three Oklahoma shows tonight through Saturday.

Lambert will play a sold-out solo show at 8 tonight at First Council Casino & Hotel in Newkirk. She also will perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Lucky Star Casino Events Center in Concho and at 7 p.m. Saturday at Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, OK.

On all three venues’ ticket sales sites, the message is the same:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Pistol Annies are unable to appear for their scheduled tour dates in June. However, Miranda Lambert plans to honor all of these engagements and perform for all the fans that purchased a ticket.”

On PistolAnnies.com, there are no events listed under the “Events” tab. The Annies were set to tour in support of their sophomore album, “Annie Up,” released May 7.

The mysterious cancellations have sparked online rumors that the trio – Lambert, Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe – may have split up, but I’ve seen nothing to confirm that.

“Annie Up” has been named one of AllMusic.com’s Editors’ Choice picks for the best releases of May 2013, while Amazon.com’s listed it as the top country album in their Best Music of 2013…So Far.
