Oklahoma scene: Marcus Smart among finalists for Team USA Under-19 team

OSU's Marcus Smart is one of 16 finalists for the 2013 USA Basketball Men's U19 World Championship Team. The roster will cut to 12 before the team departs Wednesday for three days of training at the Washington Wizards' practice facility in Washington, D.C.

The 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship will be held June 24-July 6 in Prague, Czech Republic.

The team will be coached by Florida coach Billy Donovan.

OU GOLFERS TO COMPETE IN PUBLIC LINKS CHAMPIONSHIP

OU women's golfers Chirapat Jao-Javanil, Taylor Schmidt and Anne-Catherine Tanguay will participate in the U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship starting Monday at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman.

The WAPL is open to female amateur golfers who, since Jan. 1, 2013, have been public course players and have not held privileges of any course that does not extend playing privileges to the general public.

A field of 156 golfers will compete in two rounds of stroke-play qualifying Monday and Tuesday. The field will then be cut to 64 for match play. A total of six match-play rounds will be conducted over the next four days to determine the champion. The final match will be contested over 36 holes.

The event is free and open to the public.

BLACK'S GOALS LIFT OKLAHOMA CITY FC

Oklahoma City FC got a pair of goals from Adam Black to rally past the Houston Dutch Lions 5-4 Saturday at Star Field on the campus of Oklahoma City University.

Black, a forward from Liverpool, England, who earned Premiere Developmental Player of the Week honors last week, now has 10 goals on the season for OKC FC (5-3).
