The Round Rock Express hit three homers and scored eight runs in the top of the ninth inning to stun the Oklahoma City RedHawks 9-4 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark on Sunday.

Eli Whiteside hit a three-run shot to left field to put the Express up, 5-4, and give Round Rock its first lead of the game. The victory would give the Express sole possession of the PCL's American Southern Divison lead.

Until the ninth inning, all six runs between the two teams were a result of solo home runs. Jonathan Villar set the tone for the RedHawks with home runs in the first and seventh inning.

VALDEZ GIVES GAME AWAY

RedHawks' pitcher Jose Valdez had a blown save in the team's third game against Round Rock. In one inning pitched, he gave up seven hits, seven earned runs and two home runs.

SHORT HOPS

*Round Rock's Mike Olt hit two home runs in the ninth inning — one came off Valdez, and one came off Phil Humber, who came in to get the final out.

*Asher Wojciechowski set a new season-high for strikeouts in a game with eight Sunday night. Wojciechowski finished with four hits and one run allowed.

*It was the first multi-home run game of Villar's career. He went three-for-five at the plate and had two runs in the game.

THE FINALE

The RedHawks will wrap up the homestand at 7:05 p.m. Monday at The Brick.

Brett Oberholtzer (4-5, 4.95 ERA) will take the mound Monday for Oklahoma City, while Martin Perez (4-1, 2.10) gets the start for Round Rock.

Next up for OKC is a four-game series in New Orleans that begins Tuesday.
