Student drives vehicle into Oklahoma City Community College building

Oklahoma City police said a student hit several things with a vehicle before crashing it into a building at Oklahoma City Community College.

No one was injured Thursday when a student drove into the entrance of the main building at Oklahoma City Community College, Oklahoma City police said.

Authorities said the driver, Daniel Ratliff, 24, drove up a wheelchair ramp and through the glass entrance of the school's main building at about 8:05 a.m.

Capt. Dexter Nelson said authorities are unclear as to why Ratliff failed to stop.

Ratliff is a student at the college, said OCCC spokesman Cordell Jordan.

The building suffered roof and water damage during May's storms.

The crash did not damage any part of the building other than the entrance, Jordan said.

Students and visitors are asked to use the science, engineering and math Entrance 1 in Parking Lot A.
