The top boys and girls youth soccer teams from 12 states, including at least 19 teams from the Oklahoma Soccer Association, will compete throughout the next week in the US Youth Soccer Region III (South) Championships in Edmond.
The tournament runs from Friday-Thursday, June 27, at the Edmond Soccer Club Complex.

*Opening Ceremonies took place Thursday night at Wantland Stadium on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma. Teams from each state made an entrance and were announced individually. Then, like major league and international matches, there was an exchange. Usually at the international level, they exchange jerseys or flags. On Thursday, the teams exchanged their club shirts with other clubs.
*Teams came from the following 11 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas and Tennessee.
*Age groups range from under-13 to under-19
*More than 200 men's and women's collegiate coaches are attending from conference ranging from the Horizon League to the Big 12 Conference.
