OSU regents to vote on raises for coaches, budget

Oklahoma State will hand out nearly $95,000 in raises to various coaches if approved by the Board of Regents for Oklahoma State University and the A&M Colleges at a meeting in Tulsa on Friday.

Set to receive raises are women's basketball coach Jim Littell ($50,000 raise), equestrian coach Larry Sanchez ($10,000), wrestling coach John Smith ($12,000), men's tennis coach Jay Udwadia ($2,000), track coach Dave Smith ($10,000) and women's tennis coach Chris Young ($10,000).

The board will also address costs for improvements to the lighting inside Gallagher-Iba Arena. Expected costs for the project range from $200,000 to $400,000.

The board will also address the 2014 fiscal year budget. Among the sports-related items on the budget:

* $5.5 million for season and post-season competition for all sports' operating costs.

* $1.5 million for catering for the athletic training table, recruiting, club seats and suites.

* $2.25 million for roof replacement on Boone Pickens Stadium and Gallagher-Iba Arena.

* $800,000 to purchase event management (ticket takers, ushers, etc.) from Express Personnel.
