Oklahoma point guard Isaiah Cousins was arrested early Saturday morning on a complaint of public intoxication and interfering with a police officer, according to the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office.

Cousins was booked at about 2:30 a.m. and released later that morning.

“We're aware of the situation involving Isaiah Cousins last night,” OU coach Lon Kruger said. “Isaiah feels badly about the incident, will learn from it and move on. The matter will be handled internally.”

The Mount Pleasant, N.Y., native started 14 games as a freshman, averaging 2.7 points, 2 rebounds and 1.6 assists. Cousins was replaced in the starting lineup by senior Sam Grooms and played sparingly down the stretch.

Cousins is expected to compete for the starting spot this season.

Oklahoma leaves for a 10-day trip to Belgium and France on Aug. 6.
