With Louisiana-Monroe, Tulsa and Notre Dame on the non-conference schedule, there’s no doubt Oklahoma has one of the toughest out-of-conference schedules for 2013.

Tuesday, CBS Sports’ Bruce Feldman wrote that the Sooners have the toughest non-conference schedule in the nation.

“Unlike almost every other FBS team in the country, there is no ‘cupcake’ non-conference game for the Sooners in 2013,” Feldman wrote.

Non-conference opponents are ranked 1-5 with bonus points given for playing on the road or at neutral sites. The Sooners play Notre Dame Sept. 28 on the road. Their other two non-conference games are at home.

Notre Dame made the BCS National Championship game a year ago while Tulsa won 11 games and Louisiana-Monroe won eight.

The Sooners were the only Big 12 team on the list of teams with the 10 toughest non-conference schedules. SMU, Nevada and Southern Miss tied for the second spot on the list.

Feldman earlier ranked the softest non-conference schedules in the country, with West Virginia, Baylor and Kansas State all finishing in the top (or bottom) six.
