Temperatures will be near 97 degrees Wednesday with the heat index making it feel like 103 degrees, the National Weather Service reports.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 97. Heat index values as high as 103. South wind 18 to 22 mph with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 75. South, southeast wind 10 to 16 mph with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Thursday: Sunny and hot with a high near 98. Heat index values as high as 104. South wind 9 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear with a low around 75. South wind 6 to 14 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny and hot with a high near 98. Light and variable wind becoming north 5 to 9 mph in the morning.

Friday night: Mostly clear with a low around 73.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny with a high near 93.

Saturday night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy with a low around 71.

Sunday: Sunny with a high near 89.

Sunday night: Mostly clear with a low around 68.

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 87.

Monday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67.
