Wednesday Video Spotlight: "Just Try," by fledgling duo Fauntella Crow, featuring Sunday Lane

Check out the video for the lovely but pensive “Just Try,” the lead single for fledgling indie-folk duo Fauntella Crown, a partnership between Tulsa native Sunday Lane and violinist Jessy Greene.

The Los Angeles-based pair were featured at South by Southwest back in March and then released their debut EP, “Lost Here,” in May.

If you’ll remember, I reviewed last year Lane’s strong solo debut LP, “From Where You Are.” It was the follow-up to her first EP, “Bring Me Sunshine,” which helped the Oklahoma native snag a gig at the 2011 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, a spot on Music Connection’s Hot 100 Unsigned Artists List and two featured songs on the season premiere of the CW show “One Tree Hill.” The singer, songwriter and classically trained pianist also has been named an iHeartRadio Artist to Watch.

Greene has toured and/or recorded as a violinist, cellist and singer with the Foo Fighters, P!nk, Wilco, The Jayhawks, Glen Campell, R.E.M. and more, according to a news release. Recently, Greene toured as part of Dave Grohl’s “Sound City Players” performing alongside Stevie Nicks, John Fogerty, and Rick Springfield in support of Grohl’s directorial debut documentary Sound City, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.

Last week, the duo promised on Facebook that they would have new music coming soon, and if “Just Try” is any indication, that’s something to look forward to.
