Thunder rookie and lifelong Spurs fan Andre Roberson: "They're my enemy now"

Rookie hazing remains a common practice in pro sports, whether it’s filling a youngster’s car with popcorn or leaving him stuck with the entire team’s room service bill.

Next season, the Thunder veterans will have a new trio of targets, with Steven Adams, Andre Roberson and Grant Jerrett set to join the organization.

And already, Roberson may have provided KD and company with a bit of ammo.

Roberson, a 6-foot-7 forward out of Colorado, is from San Antonio and was a Spurs fan growing up. And during the Finals, his sister posted this throwback picture on Instagram.

For his part, Roberson said all the necessary things when introduced to the media on Sunday, noting that he stopped being a Spurs fan right around the time his name was called 26th overall in the draft Thursday night.

“When I step on the court, it’s a totally different mindset,” Roberson said of playing the Spurs. “They’re my enemy now. Rooting for them on the TV growing up, it’s crazy now that’s you get to play against them. It’s going to be surreal at the moment, but I got a job to do.”
