Oklahoma City's United Soccer Leagues team will play its first game in April of 2014. Prodigal LLC's John Allgood announced that the group will hold a contest for the name of the organization.

After the team name has been decided, Prodigal LLC will collaborate with a brand company to create the team's jersey.

Over the next few months, Prodigal LLC will be talking to MLS clubs in Dallas, Houston, and Kansas City about keeping a regional affiliation. An affiliation between a Major League Soccer team could help Oklahoma City scout, recruit and field players for its new organization.

“If it makes sense, philosophies are there, there's an opportunity for Prodigal and Oklahoma City to have an affiliation relationship with a club,” United Soccer Leagues President Tim Holt said.

A rivalry between Oklahoma City and Tulsa in soccer could be rekindled at some point in the future.

Allgood, Prodigal's Senior Executive Vice President of New Business Development, and Holt both admitted they have a keen interest in seeing Tulsa added to the USL.
