Oklahoma City RedHawks: New Orleans Zephyrs shut out OKC

METAIRIE, La. — Four New Orleans pitchers combined to shut out the Oklahoma City RedHawks 4-0 on Friday night at Zephyr Field.

Duane Below, Jonathan Abaladejo, Zach Phillips, and Chris Hatcher combined on the eight-hit shutout.

Below (5-3) pitched the first six innings to earn his fifth win. The left-hander scattered five hits with one walk and six strikeouts.

The RedHawks (47-41) were 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position, leaving nine runners on base.

New Orleans catcher Kyle Skipworth went 2-for-3 and drove in three runs.

OKC's Jonathan Villar finished the game 0-for-4 to snap a 10-game hitting streak.

UP NEXT

The RedHawks and Zephyrs continue their series in New Orleans at 6 p.m. Saturday. Right-hander Jarred Cosart (7-4, 2.98 ERA) is scheduled to start for Oklahoma City, while right-hander Matt Neil (2-3, 5.08) is expected to pitch for the Zephyrs.
