July is National Hot Dog month, National Ice Cream month, and National Anti-Boredom month, and we have just what you need for all of these special occasions! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a good old-fashioned hot dog eating contest. Oklahoma Victory Dolls will be standing alongside, cheering on contestants. We will also have Frank’s Wurst and Roxy’s Ice Cream Social, along with other food trucks to help you get your monthly food truck fix.
No LIVE on the Plaza is complete without live music, and there will be something all along the Plaza strip! Starting at Velvet Monkey, stop in and view the salon while listening to a live DJ. Don’t forget the hidden gem, Size Records, in the back room, for all your record needs. Just down Blackwelder, The Society will be featuring local musician, Josh Qualls. Further down 16th, alternative country trio Barling will be playing with Gabriel Knight inside the Parish. You can also catch Cloud Menders and Sunny Side Up, just next door at Bad Granny’s.
Along with live musicians, there will also be a variety of featured artists. Check out illustrations by Tessa Raven in her series, “Black & Blue” inside Tree & Leaf Clothing. The Society will be hosting mixed media artist, Nathan Guidry. IVC Galleries will be show casing Mikul Anderson’s “Oklahoma-scapes.” The artists Sean Lyman (Missouri) and Conrad Crespin (Oregon) will be displaying their works inside DNA Galleries.
As always, LIVE on the Plaza is pet friendly! Bring your pup to enjoy these Dog Days or hang out with the beautiful greyhounds from Hounds of the Heartland, a local non-profit dedicated to finding loving, responsible homes for these noble animals.
